Day Nine: It's all starting to blur (Hadrian's Villa)

I woke up and had my usual breakfast of bread and olive oil. I had been having jelly, but recently I have not been a fan. Today I also found out why there are little to no toilets seats in Italy. Ms. Green said something along the lines of: they don't want to maintain more than they have to. I was not satisfied, and promptly fell asleep.

I awoke to hitting my head very hard on the window, only to realize, that we were still about 5 minutes away. I did not fall back asleep. We arrived at Hadrian's Villa and played small hand games while taking in breaths of fresh, cigarette smoky, sulfuric air.

Hadrian really loved to build large things. So, Hadrian built large things. The Villa was outside of ancient Rome, but was as big as a small city. He built three bath houses, two libraries, 2 artificial lakes, a stadium, and more. That was only what we saw today. We took the tour with our guide, Valentina, for around two hours. The whole time I was searching for places to explore. Today I was out of luck and only climbed a small hill.

We were all very hungry when we left the site, so we packed up in our buses and set out for lunch. We arrived in Tivoli and immediately went to a pizza place. I had 8-10 small slices of pizza and then we walked around the downtown main area and did a little bit of tourist activity. Well, you are all wondering right now why I haven't mentioned my roommate, Michael. At this time, he was being coerced into eating pineapple gelato and getting absolutely gobsmacked at soccer by little kids.

We all got our souvenirs and met in the town square where we walked into the Grand Villa from the Renaissance. It had beautiful views, and fountains. Of course, we took a lot of pictures.

We left the villa after touring it for about an hour, and set off for Rome's beautiful downtown. We went to the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon again. We also went shopping here. But before all of this, the most important thing is that we all had gelato and loved it. My spoon broke midway, so it was hard for me to finish because we had to take it to go, but I did. We then went to a beautiful church and saw 3 Caravaggio paintings, which were amazing.

After all of this, we went and had our humble dinners, and took the bus back to the hotel.

This is where it got interesting. As we have been doing every night, we played poker, but today there was a special guest. Ms Green joined in, and being the pro that she is, Rebecca and Polina took the prize of Pamphlets and Elsa and Sage's pens.

All in all, to quote a recently freed 21 Savage, "today was a good day."
